Giving Life Through Safe Water and Hygiene

In many parts of Ubakala village and other underserved communities, access to clean water and proper sanitation is still a luxury. People—especially children—walk long distances daily to fetch water from unsafe sources, leading to disease, dehydration, and missed opportunities for education and work.

At Project Love In Action, we believe that clean water is a human right, not a privilege. That’s why we are committed to providing safe drinking water and promoting hygiene education to help families lead healthier, more dignified lives.

Our Mission

To reduce waterborne illnesses, improve sanitation practices, and restore health and dignity by making clean, safe water accessible to every household we serve.

What We Provide

💧 Clean Water Access Projects

We work with community leaders and partners to:

  • Install boreholes and hand-pump wells in water-scarce villages

  • Rehabilitate broken or contaminated water sources

  • Train community members on how to maintain and protect water systems

Goal: Provide families with year-round access to clean drinking water, right in their own communities.

🚿 Hygiene & Sanitation Education

We host community workshops and school-based programs on:

  • Handwashing with soap and disease prevention

  • Safe food handling and household cleanliness

  • Menstrual hygiene awareness for girls and women

Goal: Empower individuals with knowledge to maintain good health and prevent the spread of illness.

🚽 Latrine Construction & Support

We support:

  • The building of safe, ventilated latrines for families and schools

  • Training in proper waste disposal and latrine maintenance

  • Advocacy for open defecation-free communities

Goal: Promote dignity, reduce contamination, and create healthier environments for all.

Why It Matters

  • Over 60 million Nigerians lack access to clean water

  • Waterborne diseases like cholera, typhoid, and diarrhea are among the top causes of death—especially in children

  • Girls often miss school during their menstrual cycle due to lack of sanitation and privacy

Real Impact

  • A single borehole can serve hundreds of people every day

  • Hygiene education has led to reduced illness in entire communities

  • Our programs help girls stay in school, families stay healthy, and villages thrive
